Who we are

Fontaine & Bubb Reeds first began in Sydney Australia in 2012 when oboists Alex and Matt began careers as freelance professional musicians following graduation from the Sydney Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music. Here they learned from many inspiring teachers, including Alexandre Oguey, Shefali Pryor, Ngaiire Dekorte and Diana Doherty.  

The business successfully operated for approximately 7 years with many customers around Australia until 2019 when Alex was cast in a new show by Cirque Du Soleil in Orlando Florida. The move to the USA and the ensuing pandemic halted operations for some time, but now we are back with more valuable experience behind us.
